"I was accused of this being an ode to myself and I was like, man, what kind of self-esteem would I have?" Campbell, 50, said with a chuckle, calling from his rural Oregon home.
Egoist he is not. If anything, Campbell repeatedly has proved that he enjoys nothing more than sending up one particular facet of his own public persona: the suave, sarcastic leading man, a little John Wayne, a little Elvis Presley, that emerged during the course of shooting numerous low-budget movies, Sam Raimi's cult classic "Evil Dead" films among them.
Hard work, tribute to Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell
I recently sat down with actor/director Bruce Campbell to discuss his new movie, "My Name is Bruce." We wound up talking about bean curd, booze, and stand-up comedy. Coolest guy ever!
Below from PosterGeek you can checkout a new poster for the upcoming TV show 13: Fear is Real. The action takes contestants on a journey with challenges and games designed to frighten them along the way.
Similar to horror films, the challenges will play into our deepest fears and anxieties and will reveal things the contestants never knew about themselves."
Bruce Campbell, who directed and starred in My Name is Bruce, told SCI FI Wire that he now regrets using his real name in the self-referential spoof.
In the film, Campell's biggest fan enlists the actor's help to fight a monster. Campbell now finds that viewers are taking his fictional persona a little too seriously.
"We probably should not have called him 'Bruce Campbell,'" Campbell said in a phone interview on Dec. 14. "It created an extra layer of distress in people's minds where they were tormented with why we went so far, if he was Bruce Campbell."
TV Movie on DVD February 17 Based on Erik Weihenmayer's Best-Selling Autobiography
Culver City, CA (December 8, 2008) – The A&E Television Networks' movie Touch the Top of the World, starring Peter Facinelli (Twilight), Bruce Campbell (TV's "Burn Notice," The Evil Dead) and Sarah Manninen (The Prince and Me), will be released on DVD February 17 by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The riveting true story of one man's obsession to do the impossible is based on Erik Weihenmayer's best-selling autobiography and will be available for $24.94 SRP.
"I enjoy touring because it puts you directly in touch with your customers," Campbell said. "I get to hear what they like and what they don't like and they hassle you. We do these Q&A sessions after the movies and they're very fun. They're very spirited and sometimes they bicker and argue, and I cajole and torment, and they insult and I throw it back. It's a love-hate thing."
This commercial, from Saatchi & Saatchi , certainly makes Evil Dead the Musical look better than, well, all musicals. Not that I didn’t like Legally Blonde, there’s just something about this commercial that says, “Take the wife to this”.
While Ash attempts to deal with the changes and situations from our previous two issues - after the life-changing events of issue #13 - our reluctant hero begins to forge a new path.... But will he trip and fall before taking the first step?
[BC] Tumultuous. That's our relationship. It's like a bad marriage. No, I think I try and make myself available. I try not to be a mystery man. I go to theaters and events. I haven't done carwashes yet. It may be time to hang up the spurs when that happens.
A Winter Weather Advisory would keep most people in their homes, and would likewise keep most out-of-towners from venturing into Madison. That was not the case on Wednesday night for fans of B-movie icon Bruce Campbell, nor for the man himself, as he hosted four spirited screenings of his new film at Sundance Cinemas.
Do you believe there’s such a thing as a movie so bad it’s good?
“Plan 9 From Outer Space” is entertaining on a whole new level. It’s not really a movie, it’s a new form of entertainment. But it’s pretty rare that a movie is bad and entertaining. Most bad movies are just bad movies. I’ve read very funny reviews of this film, where they assume I was trying to make a bad movie. That I was obviously doing things poorly. What they don’t realize is the one thing different between me and Troma (the schlock studio best known for “The Toxic Avenger") is I never go in intending to make a bad movie. It’s easy to make a bad movie, but I never try to make a bad movie. Sometimes it just happens naturally.

Bruce Campbell Q & A at Avon Theater, Decatur, IL 12-01-2008
Legendary B-movie star Bruce Campbell is touring the country by car to promote his new movie "My Name is Bruce."
Dean Richards interviews Bruce about his film and television career and to see if any of the trivia he found on the internet about Bruce is true or false.
This weekend we added our official review for Image Entertainment's My Name is Bruce, which is currently hitting limited theaters across the country. "BRUCE was made for Campbell fans and nobody else. With all the quips, references and smart-alecky charm that Campbell brings to the table, there’s not a single second that’s hard not to love. While technically flawed, the heart is there and it’s in the right place."
