The question is: do we (but we, I ostensibly mean “the masses,” but probably am actually just using the royal “we”) prefer Evil Dead flavor Bruce Campbell or Burn Notice flavor Bruce Campbell?

Let’s find out!

Burn Notice Actors Spend Time With Soldiers

BAGHDAD, Iraq – On television, actor Jeff Donovan plays a defunct spy who has expertise in explosives and weapons.

Recently, however, at Combat Outpost Meade, south of Baghdad, it was Donovan who took pointers from the Soldiers of 113th Field Artillery Battalion, 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team.

Donovan was accompanied by Don Campbell, military advisor for the tour, and Bruce Campbell, Don Campbell's brother, and also a cast mate of Donovan.

Bruce Campbell is a star in his own right, from films such as, "Army of Darkness," and "Bubba Hotep." Both Donovan and Bruce Campbell appear on the USA network television show, "Burn Notice."

During their visit at COP Meade, Bruce Campbell and Donovan tried their hand at the firing range and met with Soldiers as part of a morale, welfare and recreation tour throughout Iraq.

"Everybody should support the troops," said Bruce Campbell.

Only a few minutes after landing in a UH-60 Black Hawk, the two actors were greeted by cheers and shouts, "Hey Bruce!"

CNN Fails to Tap Bruce Campbell as Replacement for Lou Dobbs

John Sellers writes:
As you’ve no doubt heard by now, Lou Dobbs abruptly resigned last night as CNN’s 7 p.m. anchor. The network has already named John King as his replacement.

I’m thinking that CNN should have instead gone after the only man ever to achieve cult fame by replacing his own hand with a chain saw.

That’s right: CNN should have hired Bruce Campbell.

If you haven't seen "My Name is Bruce" yet, do it and do it now. If you're a Campbell fan, a B-movie fan, or a comedy fan, you really need to see it. It is a freaking imperative. And if you're just a person in the mood for a good time, do yourself a favor and check "My Name is Bruce" out. Despite its general cheesiness, the flick is a hoot. You will have a good time. No question about it.

Featured Video: The Man Called Ash - M.U.G.E.N

Description: And from out of the blue, Ash Williams makes his debut in this heated matchup versus the web-slinging wall-crawler, Spiderman...who's in armor no less :P (which means a small Super Armor that comes with it). I apologize for not making as many videos as before, but things have been hectic, and playing Mugen has become a past time for me instead of a project, but I couldn't resist doing a match-up with one of my favorite movie characters, Ash Williams. Especially since I watched the Evil Dead series (again) for Halloween

Scaremeister Raimi sheds light on his fondness for darkness

George Hadley-Garcia writes:
Sam Raimi is best known as the man behind the "Spiderman" franchise, but he's also widely regarded as a master of the macabre and of horror. After all, he broke through in 1981 with "The Evil Dead" after fixating on horror movies as a child. Before age 10, he was making 8-mm home movies.

"I was always attracted to strong actions. I like strong reactions," he notes quietly. "Subtle comedy wasn't my thing. The Three Stooges, that was my thing. Oh, boy, was that my thing!" he says, fondly laughing. Indeed, many of Raimi's films feature Stooges-like sequences. Asked if they're meant as homages to the zany trio, he simply avers, "I just think they're clever, funny sequences."

This is a short video a friend and I made in my freshman year for a programming class using Alice. Evil Dead has always been a favorite franchise of mine and when we were told to create a final project the idea of creating a "sequel;" came to mind and we were able to create this. I hope you all enjoy it, if you like Alice you can create a wide number of animated shorts.

New Book: The Evil Dead by Kate Egan Released Today

Over the last twenty years, Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead (1981) has been celebrated as a rollercoaster ride of terror; a classic horror video hit; an exemplar of the 1980s cycle of tongue-in-cheek and excessively gory horror films; and as the film that introduced the now-iconic character of Ash (played by Bruce Campbell). This study considers the range of factors that have contributed to the film’s continuingly evolving cult reputation – the story of the film’s gruelling production, its journey from Cannes to video and DVD, the film’s play with the conventions of the horror genre, and its status, for fans and critics alike, as one of the grungiest, gutsiest and most inventive films in horror movie history.
