Actor and cult icon Bruce Campbell discusses past and future projects

On Evil Dead and "Bruce vs. Frankenstein":

Q. "Evil Dead" continues to thrive as an important cultural milestone in horror filmmaking. What do you attribute to the franchise's popularity and continued presence in pop culture?

A. I feel at the end of the day, the film business is no different than anything else. If you put a lot of time and effort into something, it tends to come out better than stuff slapped together in 10 days, a la Roger Corman style. The "Evil Dead" flicks are very handmade and I think audiences pick up on that. "Army of Darkness" had studio intervention and you can tell.

Q. For years, rumors have floated around the Internet that the next "Evil Dead" movie would feature a different actor playing Ash. Is that still the case and would you come back for another go-around or is the "Evil Dead" franchise a done deal at this point?

A. I'll do another sequel if Sam (Raimi) is involved. I wouldn't be in a remake anyway, just because of the nature of the beast.

Q. Ted Raimi has hinted that a follow-up to "My Name is Bruce" is a possibility. Is that a film you would like to revisit?

A. Hell, yeah. We hope to do the sequel, "Bruce vs. Frankenstein" this year between "Burn Notice" seasons. Stay tuned.
