Scott Spiegel co-wrote Evil Dead 2 with Sam Raimi.
He also introduced Quentin Tarantino to producer Lawrence Bender, who helped Tarantino get Reservoir Dogs (1992) made. Tarantino subsequently credited Spiegel with helping him establish his filmmaking career.
Mr. Spiegel recently directed Hostel: Part III, which will be released to DVD on December 27th.
